mission in mind are as follows:-
Responding
to Youth concerns:
To
target Behavioral change through communication. Referral and
treatment of STD's among non-student youth groups as well
as to organize rallies to raise awareness among the mass and
share information.
Drug
Abuse:
SPYM
runs three drug de-addiction centers called "Mashwara" which
offers services of competent professionals, committed to giving
both physical and psychological support in the treatment of
drug addicts and alcoholics.
Community
Development:
SPYM
is involved in community development programmes aimed at helping
men and women to form Self Help Groups, increase female literacy,
develop micro enterprise programmes, organize gender sensitization
and income generation projects. Villagers are also trained
in health and hygiene in order to lead a healthier and happier
life.
HIV/AIDS
awareness:
To
prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS among various target groups
such as women, youth, truck drivers, migrant laborers and
drug users through public awareness campaigns, poster exhibitions,
street plays and rallies as well as many other outreach activities.
Human
Rights and HIV/AIDS work:
The
fear and ignorance surrounding the disease have given rise
to severe discrimination and prejudice against people living
with HIV/AIDS. To address this issue SPYM has been actively
involved in human rights activities and lobbying for these
rights. SPYM has developed a documentation center for the
use of staff members working in the community.
