SPYM has been organizing International Youth Exchange Programme (YEP) in collaboration with Canada World Youth (CWY), Canada since last nine years. Participants are selected from different parts of the country both in India and Canada. The exchange program is of six months duration, three months in Canada and followed by the second phase in India. It is a lifetime experience for the participants.
The youth exchange program is an experiential learning process during both the phases of the program to enrich the participant’s knowledge and experience in community development and health related issues.
Objectives of the YEP :

Preparing youth for adaptability, self-knowledge, time/stress/conflict management, and a sense of responsibility, accountability, organisation, teamwork and an opportunity to learn one or more languages.

Facilitate life skills development through opportunities that teach interaction and coping skills, teach decision making skills, sharpen communication skills, teach leadership skills, encourage critical thinking, which all leads to participants confidence and self esteem.

To create among participants from Canada and India an increased awareness, understanding and appreciation of the socio-economic and cultural realities of international society.

To foster among young participants a greater understanding as a basis for meaningful collaboration in local and international development.

To foster among participants the understanding that they are members of an interdependent world.

To provide participants with unique and hands-on learning opportunities.

To promote intercultural understanding and mutual respect.
Eligibility

Participant should be in the age group of 18 to 23 yrs. (flexible in case of females)

Has to stay in the program for 6 months continuously

Possess a valid passport

SPYM and CWY will bear the expenses of the selected participants for their boarding & lodging, international airfare, Medical Insurance in Canadian phase, local transportation, pocket money etc. during the exchange program.

Selected participants will have to pay Rs. 16,000/- (sixteen thousand non-refundable) as a registration fee and visa processing fee to participate in the six months duration international Youth exchange program in Canada and India.
SPYM invites nominations on a plain sheet of paper through educational institutions/NGOs along with one photograph by 10th December 2007 with an application fee demand draft of Rs. 100/- in the favour of “SPYM” payable at “Delhi”. For any further information please visit us at www.spym.org
